The ultimate display of grace, power, expression, and beauty for any kathak artist to offer an audience.  It is the hallmark of any kathak artist's prowess and where their unique voice stands upon decades of training.  Kathak is traditionally a solo art where the artist brings the audience of any size through  a moving journey of devotion, rhythmic exploration, storytelling, and energetic interplay between the dancer, musicians, and audience.

Master bowed string musician, Beth Bahia Cohen, brings Inspired by the myth of the Phoenix and all who have had to endure and fight to overcome.  This piece took on a whole new meaning with the recent loss of my father, which felt like the ultimate defeat.  This piece is dedicated to us all.  Still we must rise.
